Convention and Visitors Bureaus For Your Event

Top Picks

For a planner, having a Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) as a partner in planning a meeting or event is like having a best man or maid of honor to help plan your wedding. Not only do CVBs have a planner’s best interests in mind but they also pick up much of the heavy load and pay attention to all the little details that ensure the day is a big success.

Some of these tasks may include assisting planners on choosing the best site for a meeting or event and participating in site inspections, as well as permits, event promotion, registration and marketing materials. This is especially useful for planners that may be working with destination meetings and events since CVBs are the most knowledgeable of local services and attractions. And even better, this assistance is usually provided at no cost.

In the Chicagoland area, for example, planners can opt to work with Chicago’s North Shore Convention & Visitors Bureau, which is an area bordering the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan with venues catering from 20 to 1,000 guests. Some options include the picturesque grounds of Chicago Botanic Garden, state-of-the-art facilities at Northwestern University, and intimate atmosphere of music club S.P.A.C.E.

In northeast Pennsylvania, Lackawanna County Convention & Visitors Bureau offers historical and entertainment venues for up to 14,000 people including PNC Field for rabid sports fans, Steamtown National Historic Site for history buffs and Montage Mountain Ski & Waterpark Resort for outdoor enthusiasts.
