The Lodge at the Presidio
About
The Lodge at the Presidio is located in the heart of the former U.S. Army base known as the Presidio of San Francisco. The Lodge is housed in the historic Montgomery Street Barracks, which were built between 1894 and 1897 by the government to house six artillery units, two infantry companies, and a cavalry squadron. The Lodge’s rich link to both its military legacy and that of the nearby Ohlone tribe are on exhibit throughout the grounds when it reopened in 2018 as a historic hotel. The Lodge at the Presidio, which was once located in the shadow of the famous Golden Gate Bridge, is now located within the boundaries of a lush, 1,500-acre national park with views of the magnificent San Francisco Bay.
