Greyfield Inn

About

This elegant Colonial-style mansion, built in 1900 for Margaret Carnegie Ricketson, was transformed into an inn in 1962 to preserve its preservation. The hotel’s beautiful guest rooms have Victorian antiques, Tiffany lamps, and Chippendale furniture. The Carnegie family formerly controlled roughly 90% of Cumberland Island, and their library is well-stocked with first editions and classics. The island only allows a small number of visitors each day, and as there are no telephones there, the tranquil environment extends even inside the guest rooms. Meals from the organic garden, recreational activities, a trip into the forest with a naturalist, kayaks, bikes, and ferry service are all included in the all-inclusive American Plan package.
