Benbow Historic Inn

About

The Benbow Historic Inn, which was named the Best Small Historic Inn/Hotel (Under 75 Guestrooms) by Historic Hotels of America in 2018, is surrounded by the unfathomable grandeur of Avenue of the Giants and famous redwood groves in Northern California. The Benbow family commissioned Jack London’s Wolf House architect Albert Farr to create a cornerstone property for the expanding resort town, which he completed and opened to the public as Hotel Benbow in 1926. Hollywood icons Clark Gable and Spencer Tracy, as well as dignitaries Eleanor Roosevelt and President Herbert Hoover, stopped at the hotel while driving down the freshly finished Redwood Highway, making it an instant hit.
