About
Ardelia Beach founded Basin Harbor in 1886 as a working farm that welcomed summer boarders looking for a break from the stresses of city life. The lodge was enlarged to the 700-acre resort it is now by the addition of 75 cottages, making it the oldest continuously functioning inn on Lake Champlain. For more than 130 years, the Beach family has taken care of the land as stewards through five generations, and they have welcomed families, wedding parties, and corporate groups with distinctive lodging and untouched natural beauty.
The region is rich in history and has attractions for people of all ages, including the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum and nearby breweries and vineyards.
