Just last week I was at HSAMI’s Affordable Meetings West Tradeshow in Long Beach, California and a planner came by our booth to say how informative and educational it was to visit with the venues in our Unique Venues section. Sandy Lewis of Corporate Meetings & Logistics had never considered using a unique venue for her meetings and events. She almost walked by our section.
She is glad she didn’t. She saw the beautiful conference facilities at the University of San Diego and the University of California, Los Angeles. She discovered that the University of Utah and the University of California, Davis have a conference center and hotel on their campus and that Dave & Buster’s has meeting space in addition to the fun and games.
After meeting face-to-face, Sandy was able to see that these venues can offer her an out of the “hotel” box experience for her meetings and events. She promised to use uniquevenues.com when planning her next meeting or event.
Some things just cannot be accomplished behind a computer, on a webinar, on a conference call. Technology has certainly changed the way we meet, but one thing is certain. The need to meet face-to-face will never go away.
