Wells Conference Center

Wells Conference Center is a versatile conference facility with on-site catering and three separate event rooms (the two largest can be combined into one) as well as a bright atrium. With nearly 10,000 square feet of conference space.

Buchanan Alumni House - McIntire Room

McIntire Room is a large private space that can accommodate up to 200 in a reception, 150 theatre-style and 120 in a banquet. The McIntire Room has a ceiling-mounted LCD projector, screen and audio. It has an attached kitchen with an adjoining serving counter.

Buchanan Alumni House - Leadership Hall

Leadership Hall is an open area ideal for either a reception or small banquet.

Buchanan Alumni House Webber Conference Room

A private board room for 8 people.

Buchanan Alumni House Allain Library

A board room for 8-10 people, or for a theatre-style presentation for up to 25.

Collins Center for the Arts Hutchins Concert Hall

A beautiful space with 1,435 seats and is used for performances, conferences and graduations.

Collins Center for the Arts Conference Room

A private boardroom that seats 16.

Collins Center for the Arts Bodwell Area

Located on the third floor and is used for small, private receptions.  

Alfond Arena

One of the finest all-purpose facilities in the Northeast, the Harold Alfond Sports Arena has served the University community since 1977. The complex is a modern facility with virtually no obstructed-view seats. Alfond Arena’s seating capacity includes 4,925 fixed seats and space for 1,800 seats on the arena floor.  In addition to being the home of the Black Bears ice hockey teams, the venue is also ideal for: Expo Shows, Banquets, Graduation Ceremonies. 

Additional Spaces

The University of Maine offers various tiered-seating auditoriums and smaller-scale performance spaces with or without technical features. UMaine also has many classroom, meeting and workshop spaces for small to large groups.

UMaine Catering

The University of Maine offers several dining options for conference attendees and campus guests. Our menu selection includes all-you-can-eat buffet meals at our dining halls, catered events or meal tickets for your group to use at the Bear’s Den. Both Dining Services and UMaine Catering emphasize locally-sourced foods.

From elegant affairs to outdoor picnics, our staff will create a menu that best fits your palate and budget. For a true Maine experience, we recommend a lobster bake and blueberry pie!

On Campus Housing

During the summer months, Events & Hospitality coordinates housing in resident halls for conference attendees, summer camps and campus guests. On-campus housing provides a cost-effective alternative for groups who are looking for affordable accommodations. Housing options include more than 3,400 beds in traditional undergraduate residence halls, and/or 400 beds in suite-style halls with full kitchens, living rooms and private bathrooms. Single occupancy or double occupancy rooms are available. There are laundry facilities and vending machines in each residence hall, with lounges and television rooms for informal networking. All rooms include complimentary wireless internet and parking. Our resident halls are clean, accessible and affordable.
