The Otesaga Resort Hotel & The Cooper Inn

About

The Otesaga Resort Hotel first welcomed guests on July 12, 1909, and it sits on more than 700 feet of Lake Otsego shoreline. No more fortunate setting could have been picked for a hotel, a local publication said of its attractiveness. A view as lovely as anything the Divine Hand has ever painted fills the eye from its windows and wide veranda. The imposing wood-columned portico, dome-topped cupola, and distinctive Neo-Georgian elements of this seasonal resort today ooze elegance. The Otesaga, also known as “a place of gatherings” in Iroquois, and its Leatherstocking Golf Course have long been popular tourist destinations. The Cooper Inn, the resort’s sibling property, was constructed in 1813 as a private mansion for the affluent Phinney family and is open all year round.
