San José State University is centrally located on 154 acres in downtown San José, California. The University offers meeting and event space midway between San Francisco and the Monterey/Carmel area at the sunny southern end of San Francisco Bay.

The Dining Commons

Guests have the option to purchase meal plans from the University Dining Commons. Enjoy delicious cuisine influenced from around the world. Affectionately known as, "The Classics”, this three-story residence hall offers small living-learning environments for approximately 256 residents. Each hall is divided into 6 wings of approximately 35 residents each, a design which helps promote community among the residents. This building does not have elevators but do offer air conditioning.

For Strive for College's first national conference, we were very grateful to have been guests on the SJSU campus. Our mentors, college students from all across the country, were very happy with their rooms in the Campus Village. Many expressed wishes that their own college dorms would be as comfortable as those they stayed in that weekend. In addition to fresh linens and toiletries, the conference services department gave each occupant brochures of resources and activities for the San Jose area to welcome our out of town attendees. Not only were the facilities themselves wonderful, but all staff members were friendly and accommodating!

University Housing went the extra mile to save the Mosaic High School Journalism Workshop in Summer 2014. When the journalism building was suddenly closed, they found a computer lab for us to use as our newsroom for two weeks. We at Mosaic were mightily impressed and grateful!

Laundry

Each hall contains a laundry room. They are equipped with washers and dryers. Guests can use an app to do laundry and add money.

Conference Coordination and Planning

Our expert staff will work with you to locate the best facilities for your conference, as well as plan meals, reserve meeting rooms and assist in all aspects of planning.

Audio/Visual Assistance

We offer A/V set up and assistance for all of our meeting rooms, many of which come prepared with integrated A/V systems.

Free Internet Access

All rooms in our residence halls come equipped with free high speed WiFi. Many of our meeting and classrooms also come with high speed WiFi, at no additional cost.

Fitness Center

Day passes are available for The Student Recreation Center (SRAC). Located next to the San Jose State Event Center, The Student Recreation Center (SRAC) at San Jose State University has a fitness room (which is equipped with treadmills, stair masters, elliptical, and weights),mini gym, dance/fitness studios, racquetball courts and locker rooms, and also includes 2 outdoor pools.

Aquatic Center- SRAC

Day passes are available for the SJSU Aquatic Center which is part of the Student Recreation Center (SRAC). The Aquatic Center at San Jose State University is one of the largest outdoor pools in California, featuring daily lap swimming, diving boards, and recreational swimming.

Public Transportation

SJSU has immediate access to Valley Transit Authority buses and light rail (http://www.vta.org/), walking distance from Cal-Train (http://www.caltrain.com) and a short distance from Mineta San José International Airport.
