Queens College’s first residence hall, The Summit, opened in August 2009 and is available for summer programs. Located in the heart of the campus, just south of FitzGerald Gymnasium, the low-rise, U-shaped, 506-bed building has three wings of varying stories to complement the heights of the surrounding buildings.

Amenities include:

• 2 or 4 bedroom suites
• Fully furnished kitchen
• Heating and AC controls in each room
• Laundry and fitness rooms in the building
• Cable TV access in the living room and bedrooms
• Parking available on campus
• Fitzgerald Gym space totaling 52,000 square feet
• Olympic-sized swimming pool, housed in a 6,600 square foot space
• Dance studios are 1,650 square feet
• 6 indoor and 6 outdoor hard-surface tennis courts
• Softball and baseball fields are grass fields
• Newly renovated outdoor track is 400 meters long and features 8 track lanes
• Soccer field is an NCAA regulation-size grass field
• Mens’ and women’s locker rooms

In keeping with Queens College’s commitment to sustainability, the design of The Summit met Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) requirements for gold certification. The LEED rating system is overseen by the United States Green Building Council, which awards certification to structures that prevent waste and conserve energy in measurable ways.
