About
Potomac Park, the Baltimore/DC region conference center in the Christian Retreats Network, is conveniently located 2 miles off I-81 on Route 11 (Williamsport Pike) in Falling Waters, West Virginia. Potomac Park features year-round recreation and accommodations for up to 400 overnight guests. Our retreat packages include everything your group needs to have a successful ministry event in Falling Waters: choice of motel or dorm style lodging, a private meeting space with complimentary A/V equipment, buffet dining and recreation. The meeting spaces at Potomac Park are flexible suitable for both small gatherings and large conferences and have maximum capacities that range from 40 to 700 individuals. Our dedicated Guest Services team will set up your event prior to you and your guests’ arrival and will tailor the space to your preferences.
Add some excitement to your Falling Waters event with our Olympic-sized outdoor pool or disconnect your group by taking them through our new walking trail; where guests will truly feel close to God’s creation. Potomac Park offers your group that quiet and peaceful atmosphere where guests can enjoy God and His creation, as well as recreation and fellowship with friends and family. Both indoor and outdoor recreational activities are available at the venue, with activities such as basketball, volleyball, a fitness center, slippery slopes, and mini golf as well as a host of other offerings. For the last 80 years, our mission has been to serve the Christian community through off-site retreats, summer camps, and community events. Meeting & Event Spaces
Conference Auditorium
The Conference Center is a building with a lot of options! The front entrance, foyer and restrooms were all recently renovated in 2014. As you enter this building you will be greeted with a beautifully decorated and spiritually refreshing site. This front lobby is a great resource for conference registration, display boards, or meeting snacks.
The main room in the Conference Center building is the Conference Auditorium which can seat 500. This space is unique because it offers two side rooms in the back of the auditorium that can be opened to expand the capacity to 700 or closed off to create two private breakout spaces. Each side room has a capacity of 100 and can be setup with its own A/V equipment. Each side room also features mounted televisions, which can be convenient when the rooms are being used to expand the auditorium. The Conference Auditorium features a permanent stage, full sound board, lighting, and projector. Stage dimensions are 45′ x 15′.
The main room in the Conference Center building is the Conference Auditorium which can seat 500. Conference Room
The Conference Room is located in the Conference Center Building and offers a seating capacity of 350 people, as well as a portable sound system and video screen. This long rectangle room allows for unique chair arrangements and gives planners plenty of choices. The Conference Room meeting space also features 2 small break out rooms, perfect for a camp office, nursery, or breakout space. The kitchen countertop in the main room serves as a convenient area for snacks.
Cover Center Meeting
The Wendell Cover Prayer Center is a recently renovated meeting space offering beautiful views of the Potomac valley. This meeting space is perfect for our mid-sized retreats and is located near the Wigfield Dormitory. This space fits 150 guests and allows for unique chair arrangements and gives planners plenty of choices.
Schaefer Conference Room
The Schaefer Conference Room is perfect for our mid-sized retreats and is located near the Schaefer Motel Rooms and the Mason Dormitory. This space fits 150 guests and allows for unique chair arrangements and gives planners plenty of choices.
Hensley Hall
This unique, informal space is great for large conference workshops or indoor activities. The Hensley Hall has the indoor gymnasium on the upper level and the activity hall on the lower level. Leadership groups love this space for its laid back setup.
Small Group Spaces
There are 4 small meeting spaces around the Potomac Park campus that can serve groups of 10-40. These spaces are set apart from other meeting spaces, offering a quiet, distraction-free atmosphere.
Food & Beverage Options
Buffet Meal
Buffet meals are included in all of our retreat packages! Our buffet meal service offers all-you-can-eat buffet meals with self-service beverage stations and soup & salad bar. Breakfast buffet meals usually include home-baked bread, an egg dish, a meat, both hot and cold cereal, fruit, and beverage center. Lunch and dinner menus will be selected with care for the type of groups we have on grounds. Menus take into consideration the balance of children, youth, and adult groups scheduled at the time, so that menu choices will meet the needs of everyone. At each meal there is a meat item, a daily soup, several side dishes, fruit and vegetable salad bar, a dessert item, and an extensive beverage center (juices, coffee, tea, and soda).
Banquet Meal
Our groups have retreat packages that include meals, but can choose to upgrade one of their meals to a sit-and-serve banquet for a special celebration or opportunity to fellowship. Meals can be prepared with table settings that are either casual or formal. Formal settings of china, crystal, special table cloths, table decorations are available.
Meeting Room Food and Beverage Service
It’s the idea of water cooler talk; people gather around food to fellowship! So let us help you get the most out of your retreat fellowship times. Let us handle all preparation and clean up, so you can focus on ministering to your attendees. You can add some extra comfort to your meeting room with a hot decanter of coffee, teas, or ice water; maybe a tray of fruit, vegetables, cheese and crackers, or fresh baked cookies. Overnight Room Attributes
Conference Center Motel
The Conference Center motel style rooms are a great option for our adult retreats. The 16 guest rooms are located on the second floor of the Conference Center building and can accommodate up to 58 guests. These rooms were just renovated in late 2014 and feature new furniture, updated linens, and exclusive amenities. 13 of the rooms offer two queen beds, 2 of the rooms offer one king bed, and 1 room offers two full beds. All rooms offer a small credenza, a chic armless chair, and a flat screen television with DISH Satellite. Each room has a sink and vanity in the main room as well as a private lavatory and shower facilities. These rooms are motel style, so all bed linens and towels are provided.
Schaefer Motel
The Schaefer motel has two great options for your group, and all rooms were recently renovated in 2019 with new flooring and linens, and freshly painted walls. The original Schaefer motel consisted of 12 motel style guest rooms, however their popularity grew and so we expanded adding another 8 guest rooms. All 20 guest rooms are located on the second floor, above the Schaefer Conference, and near the Dining Room. All rooms also include a coffee maker for guests.
The original 12 rooms offer configurations of double and bunk beds or full and twin beds. Each room offers a private lavatory and shower facilities, as well as bed linens and towels. Each of the 8 extension rooms offer one king bed, private lavatory and shower facilities, bed linens and towels. These 8 rooms are unique in that they adjoin with one another. 4 rooms are on the east side of the building and 4 rooms on the west side of the building; there is a door between the two rooms. This is a great option for youth events that need to have one counselor watch over several guests.

Long Motel
In 2019, Long Motel got a makeover with new flooring, linens and freshly painted walls. The Long motel is a great option for a larger group wanting all motel style rooms, all while keeping their group centrally located. There are 19 guest rooms offering configurations of full and twin beds for up to 63 guests. Each room offers a private lavatory and shower facilities, as well as bed linens and towels. Half of the rooms in Long Motel also include coffee makers for guests.
Wigfield Dorm
The Wigfield dorm building is a great option for groups wanting affordable dorm style retreat packages. The contained building allows groups to split genders among the rooms and still have a common area for devotionals and fellowship. There are 5 rooms sleeping 42 guests on the upper level with indoor room access, and 5 rooms sleeping 44 guests on the lower level with outdoor room access. Altogether there are 10 rooms holding 86 guests.
All dorm style rooms are arranged similarly, offering a combination of bunk beds and a private lavatory and shower facilities. There is a second sink and vanity in the main room; which is very convenient for the youth all needing the mirror! Rooms are set up for dorm style living, but linens can be added to your group’s retreat package for an additional charge. All dorm rooms have heating and air-conditioning.

Mason Dorm
The Mason dorm building is a great option for groups wanting affordable dorm style retreat packages. The contained building allows groups to split genders among the rooms and still have a common area for devotionals and fellowship. The Mason dorm is located next to the Schaefer motel rooms and the Dining Room. There are 16 rooms sleeping 64 total guests.
All dorm style rooms are arranged similarly, offering a combination of bunk beds, sitting chair, night stand, and small dresser or desk. There are two restroom and shower facilities located in the middle of the hallway, allowing for a male and female option. Rooms are set up for dorm style living, but linens can be added to your group’s retreat package for an additional charge. All dorm rooms have heating and air-conditioning.
All dorm style rooms are arranged similarly, offering a combination of bunk beds, sitting chair, night stand, and small dresser or desk. There are two restroom and shower facilities located in the middle of the hallway, allowing for a male and female option. Rooms are set up for dorm style living, but linens can be added to your group’s retreat package for an additional charge. All dorm rooms have heating and air-conditioning.
Cover Dorm
The Wendell Cover Prayer Center dorm is a great option for groups wanting affordable dorm style retreat packages. The contained building allows groups to split same-sex guests among 4 rooms, each room offering 6 bunk sets, sleeping 12 per room and 48 total. These rooms have no back wall or door which creates a common area that’s great for devotionals and fellowship. The Cover Center dorm is located underneath the Cover Center Meeting Room.
Potomac Lodge
The Potomac Lodge (formerly known as the Royal Rangers Cabin) is perfect for guests wanting a secluded experience. The lower level contains a bedroom with 1 queen bed, kitchen, bathroom and living room. The upper level includes 3 sets of bunk beds plus 2 twin beds (8 beds total), 2 desks and a couch.
