In the center of Long Island, OHEKA CASTLE majestically towers above a well-kept estate. The New York Times referred to Otto Hermann Kahn’s 1919 construction as “the best country mansion in America.” The chateau is still the second-largest private mansion ever constructed in the USA. The house hosted notable royalty, revered heads of state, and Hollywood celebrities throughout the 1920s Golden Age. Developer Gary Melius started a meticulous and labor-intensive restoration of the castle in 1984, restoring OHEKA CASTLE to its former magnificence after it was eventually repurposed and abandoned. Visitors are welcomed to this top historic hotel with enchanting European opulence and hospitality, providing a really regal experience.
