Unique Venue Feature
The Oman Library seeks to support MEI's Mission to "increase knowledge of the Middle East among citizens of the United States and to promote better understanding between the people of these two areas," by facilitating research and information sharing on all aspects of the broader Middle East region. The Library houses over 20,000 books and periodicals devoted to the Middle East. Readers will find materials in English as well as regional languages such as Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish and Persian. Represented topics include culture, history, languages, literature, and politics of the Middle East, Islamic lands, and relevant regions. Since its establishment in 1947, the Middle East Institute (MEI) has been dedicated to improving understanding of the Middle East and promoting its culture. Situated in the heart of historic Dupont Circle, MEI is an easily accessible and unique event space with beautiful headquarters renovated in 2019. Our large conference room is equipped with a state of the art AV system and is perfect for your next corporate meeting, cocktail party, or reception. Located adjacent to the conference room is an enclosed courtyard that can be utilized for your event or simply be a place to get fresh air and relax. Your guests can also enjoy our rotating curated exhibits in the main lobby featuring artists from across the Middle East and diaspora.

Technology
Use of any MEI A/V Equipment will incur an additional charge of $150 per hour. Available equipment includes microphones and a large T.V. screen for the presentations and a projector. Tenant must bring a laptop with USB and/or HDMI outputs for PowerPoint or other multimedia presentations. Tenants may use their audio-visual equipment, which shall be at Tenant’s sole expense.
