One of the first summer hotels on Mackinac Island was the Island House Hotel, which opened in 1852. The island’s oldest still-in-business hotel is a member of Historic Hotels of America and a State of Michigan monument. It offers stunning waterfront views, a prime downtown location, and contemporary facilities with a homey, vintage appeal. While relaxing on the porch, visitors take in an unrivaled view of horses galloping down the street and freighters gliding across the Straits.
