Harbor View Hotel
About
In the days leading up to the hotel’s official inauguration on July 23, 1891, eager Martha’s Vineyard people gathered to view the new vacation hotel on Starbuck Neck. In fact, Harbor View Hotel was constructed “on a generous scale,” as boasted in the marketing. The resort’s opulent suites and breathtaking 360-degree views of Edgartown Bay, Edgartown Lighthouse, and Chappaquiddick Island are still available to guests today, exactly as they were in 1891. This beautiful hotel is a short distance from Edgartown’s main drag, where quaint whaling captain’s cottages line the streets. It is open all year.
