Green Park Inn

About

The Green Park Inn, which was established in 1891, offers a fusion of gracious hospitality with turn-of-the-century splendor. This Grand Dame of the High South was built by three local gentlemen, including Civil War veteran Maj. G.W.F. Harper. It is nearly entirely made of American Chestnut, a species that is now almost extinct. Eleanor Roosevelt, John D. Rockefeller, Herbert Hoover, Annie Oakley, Margaret Mitchell, and many other notable guests have stayed at the hotel, which attracts guests year after year with its mountain Southern beauty, emphasis on customer service, and outstanding warmth. The hotel, which is a part of the National Register of Historic Places, marked its 125th year of continuous operation in 2016.
