The Gettysburg Hotel, with its decades of distinguished hospitality, won Historic Hotels of America’s 2013 Best Historic Hotel Award. Additional accolades include Couples’ Choice Award from Wedding Wire and Best Hotel by Celebrate Gettysburg magazine. The Wills House, where President Lincoln wrote the Gettysburg Address, is a short distance from the historic hotel that first opened in 1797 as Scott’s Tavern and survived the Battle of Gettysburg. The hotel purchased the old Gettysburg National Bank (1814), which is now a stunning ballroom for weddings, after renovating its rooms in 1991.
The hotel underwent an upscale, boutique-like transformation in 2013 while keeping its historic integrity.
