General Morgan Inn

About

The General Morgan Hotel is Tennessee’s finest illustration of railroad era-inspired architecture. It was first established in 1884 on the location where Greeneville’s DeWoody Tavern existed for more than a century. The Inn, built in a late Victorian style and integrating traditional components of comfort, service, and gracious Southern hospitality, functioned as a social and economic focus for northeast Tennessee.
The hotel was extensively restored, including the building of a brand-new convention center, which was finished in 1996. The General Morgan Inn is the crown gem of Greeneville’s Main Street and offers full-service dining, opulent facilities, and quaint boutiques all only a short stroll from the President Andrew Johnson National Historic Park and House.
