Hilltown Commons

About

Hilltown Commons (formerly The Carey Institute) is not your typical hotel-based conference center. We offer an inspiring, distraction-free venue where your best people can get away to produce your best results — an open space for open minds.

Our campus offers a diversity of historic and contemporary meeting spaces. The libraries, parlors and stone patios of our 19th century estate homes provide a peaceful setting where your best people can gather in an intimate, informal setting to achieve strategic results. Or, we also have more modern master seminar rooms available.

With more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space, Hilltown Commons can accommodate any type of meeting. Our onsite performance hall seats 175, and our master seminar rooms can accommodate groups as large as 65.

All facilities are equipped with phone conferencing, visual and audio presentation capabilities, as well as high-speed WiFi access. Video and audio editing facilities are also available for meeting guests, or can be exclusively rented on a per diem basis.

We also offer overnight accommodations in 4 residence halls, an onsite gourmet restaurant, and a craft brewery and taproom.

Hilltown Commons is nestled in the historic village of Rensselaerville, settled in 1787. Main Street is home to dozens of historic homes, 19th-century churches and one of Albany County’s oldest public libraries. The Carey Institute is also surrounded by Huyck Preserve, giving our guests access to Lake Myosotis, 13 miles of hiking trails and the Rensselaerville Falls which cascade over 120 feet. With kayaking, swimming, snowshoeing and more available, the Huyck Preserve is an inspiring added value to help you achieve your goals.

All meeting costs are included in our per person pricing from overnight accommodations, meeting space and materials, to meals, coffee and snacks, ensuring your organization can budget the full meeting cost ahead of time and eliminate hidden charges for small details like LCD projectors or extra flip charts.
