Unique Venues Releases First-Ever Magazine Covering Meetings and Event Hosting on College Campuses

EDWARDS, COLORADO (January 23, 2013) – Unique Venues, a marketing organization that connects one-of-a-kind meeting and event venues with meeting planners, released the first edition of a new campus magazine in January. As the largest segment of Unique Venues’ membership, colleges and universities across the U.S. and Canada play host to a variety of high-tech and functional meeting and event spaces that go beyond a typical boardroom.

This exclusive publication has never been offered before and comes from the leading authority that has worked exclusively with the unique segment of the meetings industry for nearly 30 years. In more than 64 pages, planners will have access to in-depth articles and tactical information that can help them navigate the particulars of working with non-conventional venues. The editorial content highlights the perks of meeting on campus and illustrates how doing so helps planners meet more responsibly and with more environmental consciousness. Plus targeted pieces showcase campus teambuilding activities and helpful tips from meeting professionals. Ten additional pages are devoted to exclusive member listings to help planners find campuses in any geographic location. “There has never been a publication like this available to meeting planners before,” says Michele Nichols, founder of Unique Venues. “For more than 27 years, we were at the leading edge, publishing a planner’s guide of colleges and universities; now, we are thrilled to take it a step further and increase the coverage of this growing field with four magazine issues released each year.”

The Unique Venues publication schedule will include one magazine per quarter: Two devoted solely to colleges and universities, and two covering the vast array of other Unique Venues members, including special event venues, conference and business centers, historical and cultural venues, camps and retreat centers, cruise ships, and arenas and stadiums. Each print issue is distributed FREE of charge to professional and accredited meeting and event planners in the U.S. and Canada. As well, the magazine is delivered electronically to an additional 30,000+ professional and freelance planners.

In addition, the UniqueVenues.com website features a comprehensive database of all member listings including contact information, photo and video galleries, menus, meeting room capacities, a FREE RFP service, and more.
