Unique Venues Announces New Employee: Corey Salem Hired as First-ever Member Services Coordinator

UNIQUE VENUES ANNOUNCES NEW EMPLOYEE: COREY SALEM HIRED AS FIRST-EVER MEMBER SERVICES COORDINATOR

Salem adds to growing team, works with members one-on-one to uncover total benefit package

EDWARDS, COLORADO (December 10, 2014) – There’s a new addition to the team at Unique Venues—a marketing and membership organization that connects one-of-a-kind event locations with meeting planners—and it’s welcome news for current and prospective clients. Corey Salem fills the role as the company’s first-ever member services coordinator, a position that will interact directly with venues to educate representatives on all the member benefits and services as well as highlight new opportunities for exposure.

“We wanted our members to know there is someone at Unique Venues who is constantly looking out for them,” says Founder Michele Nichols. “This job will be both relationship-driven and informational, and Corey’s background speaks to his ability to connect with people.”

Salem holds a degree in education and previously worked as a co-teacher for The Learning Lamp, an alternative education classroom that developed curriculums for at-risk high school students.

“I was glad to accept this position because it continues a passion I have for outreach,” he says. “This appointment is more of a helping hand than anything else, and I like to be able to offer that kind of assistance.”

Salem had an interest in Unique Venues early on, exposed to the company’s mission by his father, President Chuck Salem.

“The inspiration started back in college when he introduced me to the Residence Life staff at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where I was a student. It was through that position, and my summer employment at Unique Venues where I was exposed to the industry,” he says.

“As a small, family-oriented business, it’s great when we can keep that spirit alive in our staff too,” adds Nichols of hiring Salem.

The membership services coordinator role will encompass one-on-one meetings on-site at live events and conferences as well as regular communication and trainings including webinars and presentations.

“I hope members will feel they have a more personal experience now,” says Salem.
