MEET OUR TEAM MEMBER
Gretchen Messner
Social & Digital Media Intern
After graduating from Saint Francis University with her bachelor’s degree in business management, Gretchen joined the UV team in 2024 as the digital and social media intern. Outside of work, she trains and competes in Olympic weightlifting with her team, Fourteen Forty Collective. On top of this, Gretchen is part of the team’s media crew and there is nothing she loves more than capturing the special moments for coaches and athletes in training and at meets. She enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring new trails and national parks. When not doing these things, Gretchen spend a lot of her free time with her family and friends. The newest member of her family is her nephew JJ, who has instantly become her built-in bestie. In the fall, Gretchen will continue her education with Saint Francis to earn her MBA.
- My initials are G.E.M. so my family calls me Gem.
- During COVID in my senior year of high school I started a small thrift resell business that I ran until sophomore year of college. I mainly sold online and sent orders all around the country! I would also attend pop up events throughout my community.
- My childhood dog was a miniature wiener dog was named “Pistol”, but we called him “Pistol Pete.”
Most memorable trip you’ve ever been on and what made it so special?
In June 2023, I went to Colorado Springs for my first nationals for weightlifting. Not only was it an amazing experience where I met incredible people, but I got to see so many beautiful places in Colorado.
