Several years ago, USA Today listed twenty cities in a poll for readers to determine what the number one convention city was in the country. Dallas was one of the cities listed. Although it did not win (that honor went to Indianapolis, which is a good one in its own right) Dallas is well-recognized as a great city to hold a meeting, corporate event, seminar, or another private event. So what makes Dallas a great place to not only visit but do business? Here are a few things we love about Dallas:
It’s Very Easy to Get to Dallas: If you don’t live near Dallas, you’ll be happy to know that Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport provides direct service to more than 150 domestic and 59 international destinations. It is one of the busiest airports in the world. As it’s in Texas, Dallas is kind of in the middle, meaning it won’t take you a long time to get there – whether you live in the South, Midwest, West Coast, or East Coast. Dallas Love Field Airport also provides regional flights and is the headquarters of Southwest Airlines.
It’s Very Easy to Move Around in Dallas as Well: Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is about halfway between the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, and you can reach downtown Dallas in about a half hour from the airport. If you’re traveling to Dallas Love Field, which was once the city’s main airport, it’s roughly six miles away from the city. Getting around Dallas is easy as the city’s Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) provides quick and efficient light rail and busing services. D-Link also offers free connections to downtown Dallas. In addition to that, Dallas, like any other city, has a variety of taxi services, ridesharing programs, and more.
Dallas is a Major Metropolitan City: Dallas alone has more than 1.3 million people. When combined with Fort Worth that number jumps up to more than 2 million. Dallas features all of the major amenities you would find in a major population and business center. You can eat at restaurants of pretty much any cuisine, shop, visit historical and entertainment attractions, check out a ball game, and much more. Also, many industries have a strong presence in Dallas, including petroleum, telecommunications, banking, transportation, and more.
