The conference facilities are atypical. One of the first things visitors notice is that the campus architecture is unusual. Concepts of geometric symmetry are taken nearly to their logical extreme in forming the buildings. On top of the usual classroom and lecture presentation environments, U of Mass, Dartmouth also offers conferences the opportunity to utilize less conventional spaces, nooks and alcoves and courtyards that are often seen as public or off-limits at other venues. In all, some 80 areas are made available all year long. Like most East Coast university meeting venues, overnight housing is only available during the summer months, from June through August. Twenty-two hundred can sleep on campus in a combination of residence hall quarters, and apartment-style suites during those summer months. During the school year, the largest group would be 800, which is the capacity of their largest theatre-style environment. Internet connections are available in conventional spaces. Teleconferencing and videoconferencing facilities are also at your disposal, as are computer labs. From a technological standpoint, the U of Mass, Dartmouth is pretty much state-of-the-art. Of course, the sound systems in the theatres are state-of-the-art as well. Just about anything you might ask — any media or presentation format — for can be made available for your event.
