Summer Road Trip: Part 1

Colleges & Universities, Special Event Venues

If you were going on a road trip, where would it be?

I’ll tell you where I would head. I would sign off from work in Atlanta and drive through the night to Orlando. This is a 6 1/2 drive, but worth it to be able to stick my toes in the sand at sunrise. Truth be told, I have made this drive before to celebrate beach-side weddings at some pretty incredible venues. I have also been down to the Melbourne area to visit Florida Institute of Technology for a conference last fall. The campus is lined with palm trees and the norm is for everyone to ride around on a skate board! There is even an art gallery on campus that you could host a private show with a cocktail reception. While I was there, the current exhibit was a bridal dress display. I couldn’t help but to think that would be the ideal setting for a bridal shower or rehearsal dinner reception. Talk a about a wow-experience for your guests!

If I were going on a road trip to discover the greatest venues in the Florida region, I would head next to Tampa. I have never been to Tampa, but when I go, I will visit the Florida Aquarium or Collaborative Labs. The location alone in sunny Florida has me wanting to go there, so luckily both of these places provide the colors and environment of the region while being indoors.

From Tampa I would finish off my trip in Miami. Cue the Will Smith Song now on repeat for the four-hour drive. I would set sail on the Royal Caribbean, which is the perfect place for relaxation or a meeting with a twist. Before setting sail, I would stop off at the Zadok Gallery. These trendy galleries always have unique exhibits that rotate throughout the space. Think of it as built-in entertainment for your guests!
