The Fitness Program, which was launched last week, has already received raving reviews from its participants. “It’s spreading and we’re thrilled; We even have insurance companies calling us, wanting to know how they can get the companies they insure to be a part of the program,” says Sandy Schoellkopf of Beaver Hollow.
Schoellkopf said the staff at Beaver Hollow got the idea for the program after taking a hard look at their facility. “When the economy declined, we had to reinvent ourselves, and the buzz words we kept hearing were ‘healthy, green, and local,’ so we built this program based on those words.”
The fitness program is designed for all body types, says Schoellkopf, from athletes to those needing to shed some pounds. When participants arrive, they receive a health and fitness evaluation from a certified professional and work with a health coach throughout their stay.
Beaver Hollow is proud to incorporate their 300 acres of beautiful property into the fitness boot camp. “The fitness component incorporates state of the art equipment but also nature,” says Schoellkopf.
Another green component is the menu. The program works with local farms, teaching attendees about going green, buying local, and preparing whole foods.
As the only weight-loss boot camp on the East coast, news is spreading among companies quickly about this program. “More and more, we were receiving requests about healthy retreats for employees,” she says. “It made sense to incorporate such a program into our team-building facility.”
Looking forward, Beaver Hollow is already preparing for phase two of the program. “We’re overwhelmed by the response, but it’s really the solution that companies are looking for: healthier and more productive employees.”
