Atlanta – A Top Destination for Meetings & Events in the South!

Many well-known companies call Atlanta home such as UPS, Home Depot, The Coca-Cola Company, and Delta Airlines. For this reason, as well as the plethora of activities to experience, and the 6+ million residents in the greater Atlanta area, it’s a great city to host and attend events, conferences, and meetings. After your work and meetings are done, there is even more fun to discover in A-Town!

Fun in Atlanta
Looking for memorable experiences to enjoy after your professional gathering or conference is over? Atlanta has you covered! There are so many places to take the entire staff or enjoy by yourself while you’re visiting the city. Illuminarium, a creative immersive experience, offers their popular exhibit, SPACE: A Journey to the Moon and Beyond, where you can get an up-close view of our magnificent galaxy. Ponce City Market is another well-known attraction in Atlanta; it’s a renovated historic building that houses shops, living space, and a food hall. On the roof of the building, check out ROOF, a space to enjoy cocktails, a meal, rides, and Boardwalk-style games.

The Georgia Aquarium boasts 10 million gallons of fresh and salt water and is home to more than 500 species from around the world. Visitors both young and old love getting up-close with the fascinating underwater creatures and discovering all the interesting exhibits. There’s even a new animal interaction that allows visitors to cage dive with hammerhead, tiger, and other incredible sharks. Or, if you’re not quite that big of a thrill seeker, play with some friendly sea lions, penguins, or dolphins! Be sure to make the Georgia Aquarium a stop while you’re in the city for your conference or company trip!

Outdoor Activities in Atlanta
Atlanta is nicknamed the city in the forest because it’s full of green spaces and towering trees, which makes the city feel…less like a city! There are countless outdoor recreational activities to take part in and explore during your visit. Atlanta’s Piedmont Park is a large outdoor area that contains numerous locations to exercise, relax, and discover. It is home to The Atlanta Botanical Garden, Conservation Garden, the Piedmont Dog Park, a small lake, creek, running and biking trails, and several ball fields. The park also hosts farmers markets, concerts, and other festivals throughout the year – always something to get involved in and take part in while you’re in town! The Atlanta Beltline is a spectacular place to visit, with 22 miles of unused railroad tracks that circle a large chunk of the city, with green space and parks on the interior. There are murals and sculptures surrounding much of the trail; you will be captivated by all the incredible artworks as you walk or bike through it.

Whether its indoor or outdoor, in the city or in the parks, there is so much to do in Atlanta after your conference, event, or meetings are over. You could even bring the family along for some inclusive fun once you’re done working and make the trip into a vacation! You will certainly not have a shortage of exciting sights and activities to experience in Georgia’s state capital.
