University of North Carolina Wilmington’s (UNCW) picturesque campus is the perfect location to host your next summer camp, corporate retreat, reception, event, community walk, business meeting or conference.

UNCW’s fully capable campus can provide facilities, audio visual, catering, on-site parking, and exceptional service for your next event any time of year. From mid-May through July, UNCW offers overnight accommodations within our residence halls.

Within minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and the historic downtown riverfront, Wilmington offers your participants a wide variety of activities to enjoy during their time in the city. With moderate temperatures year-round, it’s always a good time to visit.

Intern housing is available for students over the age of 18, from mid-May through July who are in the Wilmington area for summer internships or employment opportunities.

Summer interns will be housed in campus apartments where each apartment is equipped with a full kitchen, living room, individual bedrooms with full size beds, and washer/dryer in each unit. Each apartment complex has an in ground pool and pool area for guests to enjoy. Also, each complex has it's own main office or front desk that is staffed throughout your stay for any guest needs that may arise. Summer interns will share an apartment with other students.

Unique Experiences
American History: 
For those interested in learning about Wilmington's past, there are several historic sites to visit within the city including the USS North Carolina Battleship, which fought in World War II.  There are several battlefields, parks and other historic sites within a short driving distance of UNCW and Wilmington.    In 2020, Wilmington, NC was named the first World War II heritage city in the United States.  

Hollywood East:
Several popular movies and television shows have been filmed in Wilmington, including Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, Safe Haven, The Choice, and A Walk to Remember.  Many film locations are in and around the city to go visit.  Wilmington is still an active film location.

Venus FlyTraps:
Venus flytraps, carnivorus plants, are native to the Carolinas.  The Stanley Rehder Carnivorous Plant Garden is the only public carnivorous plant garden in the world to see native flytraps, pitcher plants and sundews.  The Bluethenthal Wildlife Preserve located on UNCW's campus, is a great spot for flytraps as well.

Coastal Adventures:
From enjoying a sunset dinner to paddleboarding on the Intracoastal to fishing on one of the piers to fireworks on the beach, there is an adventure to be found on the coast.  Within a short drive from three beaches-Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, and Kure Beach-there is something for everyone!

The Burney Center is UNCW's premiere location on campus.  It features a 9,300 square feet ballroom, with five different configurations available.   State of the art digital audio and video systems in the Burney Center ballroom provide a visually stunning experience for our guests with five high-definition laser projectors and an incredibly versatile audio-over-IP network dedicated to exceptional sound quality and support.  In addition, a large lobby area can serve as a pre-function space and two green rooms are available.

Our classroom availability can accomodate up to (300) guests and feature smart room technologies.

Our meeting and conference rooms located throughout campus provide guests an intimate atmosphere for any meeting or program.  Our meeting spaces have smart room technologies and have the ability to support video conferencing.

The 1,000-seat Sarah Graham Kenan Auditorium is the largest performing arts venue on the UNCW campus. It is home to over (170) events per year, including performances by esteemed community partners, as well as a wide range of internationally- acclaimed performers.

Lumina Theater is a versatile space that can accomodate high quality film experiences as well as lectures, panel discussions and concerts.  Home to a 4k digital projection system, it provides a a full-range cinema sound system complete with Dolby Digital surround sound, and a dual line-array speaker system for live events.

Trask Colisuem is a multi purpose arena that can seat up to 5,200  guests with chairback seating on both the lower and upper levels. Bleacher seating is available on the lower level.

Dining Options

Wagoner Hall is UNCW's main dining hall on campus and offers an all-you-care-to-eat option. Wagoner Hall is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner on weekdays and brunch and dinner on weekends.  Breakfast is served 7am-9am; Lunch/Brunch is served 11am-2pm; Dinner is served 5pm-7pm.

Featuring student , local, and regional artist work, the Ann Flack Boseman Gallery in the Fisher University Union offers a unique collection that features a variety of media from photography to sculpture on display year-round.

Guest passes are available during your stay with us to our Fitness Center.  The Harris Teeter Functional Training Area provides a space for you to utilize various pieces of fitness equipment to get a total body workout.

The Cross-City Trail is a (15) mile off-road trail that travels throughout the city. The trail provides bicycle and pedestrian access to numerous recreational, cultural and educational destinations in Wilmington.  Guests can pick up the trail right on campus as part of it runs through UNCW.

The Greene Track Complex is an Olympic-class track facility with an (8) lane (400) meter track.  When not in use for events, the track is available to UNCW guests to enjoy.

Wi-fi is available on campus to all UNCW guests to enjoy throughout their visit.

For guests who do not pack them or may have forgotten items, we can provide a bed and bath linen package.  Our linen package includes a pillow, pillow case, blanket, and (2) sheets, (1) bath towel, and (1) wash cloth.  Guests may keep these items after their stay.

The Challenge Course provides exciting and challenging experiential learning opportunities to help groups focus on leadership skills, team building, and positive, effective group processes.
