With the opening of The Blennerhassett Hotel in 1889, local mogul and industrialist William Chancellor started a tradition of culture and sophistication that has welcomed guests for more than a century. Stunning details like opulent crown moldings and opulent light fixtures mesmerized visitors. The First National Bank of Parkersburg, a pioneer in the usage of a pricey new innovation called electricity, was located within the hotel’s original entryway. The Blennerhassett has undergone extensive renovations and now boasts European-style furnishings, fine dining, and excellent service. The bathrooms in signature guestrooms have marble showers, granite vanities, and luxurious linens.
