About
Wheat State Retreat Center, a Wichita area retreat center, features year-round recreation and accommodations for up to 400 overnight guests. Our retreat packages include everything your group needs to have a successful event in Augusta, Kansas. When you book our event venue, you have your choice of motel or dorm style lodging, a private meeting space with complimentary A/V equipment, buffet dining and recreation. The venue’s multiple, private meeting spaces are suitable for anything from small gatherings to large conferences, with maximum capacities ranging from 50 to 750 individuals. The recreational activities at Wheat State Retreat Center are extensive and contain some of the best indoor and outdoor offerings that can be found in the greater Augusta area. For example, retreat guests can enjoy basketball, football, disc golf, climbing tunnels, giant billiards, and a wide variety of other sports and activities. You can even add some excitement to your event with our beachfront activities, rock climbing and paintball course!

Our food service offers all-you-can-eat buffet meals with self-service beverage stations and soup & salad bar (priced with Group Retreat Packages). Breakfast buffet meals usually include special home-baked bread, make-your-own waffles, an egg dish, a meat, both hot and cold cereal, fruit, and beverage center. Lunch and dinner menus will be selected with care for the type of groups we have on grounds. Menus take in to consideration the balance of children, youth, and adult groups scheduled at the time, so that menu choices will meet the needs of everyone. At each meal there is a meat item, several side dishes, fruit and vegetable salad bar generally with a daily soup, a dessert item, and beverage center (juices, coffee, tea, and water).
