After Hurricane Arthur hit Fredericton in July, thousands of people in the community were without power for up to 8 days. Crews were brought in from all over New Brunswick, Quebec and Nova Scotia to assist and over 400 power crew employees were housed by the University of New Brunswick Fredericton.
Hotels in the Fredericton area weren't able to accommodate all the people looking for a place to stay after they lost power and were also referring customers to the university.
