Renovation at Virginia Commonwealth University Due to Complete in August

Rhoads Hall was built in 1968 as an all-female residence hall, housing 697 students in 17 floors of rooms. Over the last 49 years, the population of the building has changed to mixed-gender, by floor. Previous renovations to the HVAC and cosmetic updates to the rooms were completed in the last five years, but no renovations to the plumbing had been completed prior to this major overhaul. As part of this two-year renovation of the community-style restrooms and corridors, new gender-neutral, single-use restrooms have been installed throughout the building, to accommodate our ever-changing populations of residents and guests. Due to be complete in August 2017, Rhoads Hall will be ready for new conferences and camps in May 2018.
