Renovation Upgrades Venue's Look and Flexibility at the Novo in LA

After undergoing a re-branding last year, changing its name from Club Nokia to The Novo by Microsoft, it was time for the interior of the venue to match the new brand image. At the beginning of 2017, The Novo's main floor, main bar, backstage areas, and dressing rooms were renovated to create a brighter, industrial vibe. The main bar remodel included removing the black wall with colorful LED lighting and replacing it with a recessed brick facade, hanging Edison light bulbs, transparent TV monitors, and steel accents to bring a warm, rustic ambiance instead of the dark club feel. In addition, the backstage hallways added brick wall finishes with hanging Edison bulbs. Each bulb is attached to a drum cymbal to create a custom look that pays tribute the great musical acts that have performed at the venue. The backstage dressing rooms received new paint, lighting, and the carpet was removed and replaced with polished concrete floors to give it a more modern look. The main floor of the venue also received a new curtain system that gives the venue increased flexibility. The curtains are on a track attached to the ceiling and can be stacked along the side walls to add warmth to the corners of the venue, or they can be pulled out into the main floor in various arrangements to accommodate groups of any size, closing off areas for production, VIP, or receptions as necessary. The renovation has proven to be a significant upgrade to the look and flexibility of the venue and event attendees as well as concert-goers have enjoyed the new look and feel of The Novo by Microsoft.
