3 Tips to Achieving Your Marketing Goals

Marketing your event business can feel like a daunting task, especially to someone whose niche might be in event coordinating or catering and who may not have the time or expertise to devote to creating a routine marketing strategy. Nonetheless, you have big dreams with endless goals and a good marketing strategy can help you get closer to reaching them. Here is the good news…you don’t have to be a marketing expert to achieve your marketing goals. Read on to see our three tips to help you land on a path toward achieving your marketing goals.
1. Mark your calendar! Dedicate some time each week, even if it's just 30 minutes, that is specifically dedicated to strategizing and implementing your marketing plan. Mapping out ideas about what and when to post on your social media accounts (#marketingmonday), how to advertise a deal/special, generating email marketing campaigns, determining blog post topics, and even scheduling time to update your Unique Venues Member Dashboard are just a handful of ways that you can check off your marketing to-do list each week. After a while, your marketing sessions will start to feel more routine and less like an obligation.
2. Share your marketing plans with your team. Take the time to share ideas, create new strategies, to analyze which marketing efforts have worked in the past, and decide which practices you can refresh or replace. Each quarter the Marketing Team at Unique Venues dedicates a Friday afternoon to map out a marketing strategy for the upcoming quarter. We discuss the successes of the previous quarter, as well as the short falls, and brainstorm new strategies on how to creatively market our business. Admittedly, these are some of my favorite meetings, mostly because we spend time being mindful and building our team up. We have found that each team member feels refreshed and more motivated to tackle what lies ahead after these meetings, and it collectively boosts our morale!
3. Contracting with a third-party marketing company is a sure-fire way to achieve your marketing goals. Marketing companies can help guide you through the variety of ways to market your business and know the best practices to help generate new revenue and grow your business.
