About The Warfield Theatre

The Warfield Theatre in San Francisco was built as a vaudeville and movie palace and originally opened on May 13, 1922. All the big names in entertainment played on The Warfield Theatre stage including Marion McDonald from “Gone with the Wind” to Charlie Chaplin. Keeping with its illustrious past, the entertainment that graced this California stage in the 1980s ranged from bands such as the Clash, Grateful Dead and U2.

The interior is an ornate movie palace. The lobby of this San Francisco landmark features marble, guilt and chandeliers and opens to a grand staircase to the balcony. The main theater features a lyrical mural above the proscenium arch painted by Albert Herter. The mural contains images of floating matadors and their senoritas. The Warfield is a full-service facility with a variety of modern event spaces with unlimited possibilities. The venue is available for broad range of special events including corporate meetings, private concerts, banquets, receptions, awards dinners and much more.

A welcome area mainly used as a thoroughfare to lead guests to the main bars, lobby area or main auditorium. Great for registration and step & repeats

Guests will instantly feel welcome as they enter the main lobby which has a bar and booths that may be used for gift bags, F&B service, merchandise sales, etc.

Additional space is located upstairs from the main lobby for guests to mingle, grab beverages & get comfortable. The spaces combined work well for receptions, pre-cocktail hour, meet & greets, etc.

The lower level of the auditorium accomodates a large range of different events from corporate presentations to seated dinner banquets to concert & entertainment events. This space is below the balcony, which is not visible from this level. Guests using only the lower level of the auditorium still have an intimate atmosphere that does not feel empty when only using this space.

The Balcony gives you the option to increase capacity and host many more guests for any type of event. We have just installed brand new chairs as of February 2016 & are able to accomodate 1134 seated guests in this space.
