Ted Constant Multi-purpose room The Multi-purpose Room at the Ted Constant Convocation Center has 9100 square feet of flexible space that can be subdivided from one large area to 5 smaller rooms. Amongst other functions, the multipurpose room has hosted awards banquets, training seminars, meetings, and receptions. Three 10 × 10 ceiling mounted screens with projectors, integrated room sound system, variable lighting options, convenient parking located in adjacent garage and extensive catering menu options provided by Aramark are all available for guest.

Ted Constant Arena The center point of the Ted Constant Convocation Center, the main arena is host to the Monarchs and Lady Monarchs Basketball teams of Old Dominion University and has seen performances from artists such as Sarah Brightman, WWE, Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds, Elton John, Robin Williams, and Bruce Springsteen. Not only a music and sports venue though, the arena also is frequently used for trade shows, large catered functions, religious services, and classes. There is seating for over 8000 sporting events and 9000 for commencements, concerts, and family shows. Daktronic four-sided center hung scoreboard with video capabilities.

  • Legends in Whitehurst Hall
    Seating Capacity: 225
    Legends is located on the west end of campus and is conveniently accessed from Whitehurst Residence Hall.  This all-you-care-to-eat location features an abundance of home cooked entrees made to order, display cooking, carved roast beef, three cheese macaroni and cheese, made to order deli sandwiches, paninis and wraps, pizza, an extensive salad bar, and gourmet desserts.

    Located in the center of campus in Webb Center, Café 1201 is an all-you-care-to-eat restaurant option that promises something for everyone. Featuring pizza cooked in a wood burning stove, made to order salads, and food like mom used to make, Cafe 1201 is one of our most popular destinations.  Whether you are in the mood for a quick cup of coffee, a full entree with sides from our Home Zone or some grab-n-go snacks to get you through the rest of the day, you will find what you need at Cafe 1201.

Planetarium A 40 ft. doomed Planetarium with a fully digital projector--the Digitarium Epsilon system--and feature 5.1 surround audio. The planetarium is a great option for school and summer camp groups. Shows can be presented on a variety of science topics and aimed at a wide range of age groups.

Orchid Conservatory The complex consists of five individually climate controlled greenhouses. The display house is over thirty feet high, and contains a rock wall with a waterfall and pool that is the backdrop for lush tropical plants and blooming orchids. In addition to the display greenhouse there are three greenhouses for growing orchids, and one greenhouse that is devoted entirely to botanical research. There is also a potting room and orchid propagation lab, as well as three office/lab complexes for plant research faculty. This is the largest orchid collection in the Tidewater, Virginia area and the collection includes more than 475 species in 72 different genera. The large display greenhouse, which is open to the public, contains a lush, rock wall and waterfall and splash pool that is the backdrop for verdant tropical plants and blooming orchids.

Fitness Facilities The Student Recreation Center is located in the heart of campus; the new state-of-the-art facility is the hub of all sport, wellness and fitness activity.

Virginia Beach Oceanfront You have the option when visiting the ocean front to either sit on the lovely soft sand and soak up the sun rays or walk the main street and go gift shopping, even try out one of the small restaurants, hire a bike, or buggy, if you are feeling energetic you can leisurely stroll the length of the boardwalk, and lots more. Virginia Beach has many statues and monuments along the ocean front. The Virginia Legends walk is one of them; it was built to honor Virginian’s who have made significant differences to our country and the world. The walk has plaques with the name of the person and a little bit of information about what that person has achieved and where they are from, they include Patsy Cline to Thomas Jefferson, it’s certainly an interesting place to walk through.

Virginia Aquarium Come explore over 800,000 gallons of one of the best aquariums and live animal habitats in the country at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. Check out our hundreds of hands-on exhibits, outdoor aviary, nature trail, and marshlands. Plus you won't want to miss our 3D IMAX® Theater. Of course with a screen six stories tall and eight stories wide, it'd be impossible to miss!

Mt. Trashmore World-renowned Mount Trashmore Park is 165 acres; 60 feet high, over 800 feet long, and was created by compacting layers of solid waste and clean soil. Recognized for its environmental feat, the park features the Water Wise demonstration garden that boasts xeriscaping where you can learn how to create a beautiful garden with minimal water requirements. Park is open from 7:30 a.m. until posted closing time. Facilities include picnic shelters; playground areas, volleyball courts, parking, vending machines and restrooms, plus an extensive street course Skate Park which includes a seven-foot deep bowl and a massive 13.5 ft. tall vert. ramp. The park also has a walking trail those measures approximately 1.45 miles.

Chrysler Museum of Art The Chrysler Museum is home to 62 galleries for 30,000 works of art from around the world. It has a rich schedule of exciting special exhibitions and a wide variety of daily tours, lectures, concerts, films and workshops.

The Virginia Zoo From mighty Monica, an African elephant, to our flock of small love birds, the Virginia Zoo is home to over 350 of our furry, feathered and scaly animal friends. Our animals include exotic representatives from the African savannah, as well as friendly goats that you would find on a Virginia farm. Come spend a day with us in the animal kingdom

Nauticus & Battleship Wisconsin Berthed at Nauticus, the Battleship Wisconsin is one of the largest and last battleships ever built by the U.S. Navy. Explore its deck through a self-guided tour or, with an additional charge, our guided Topside Tour that will take you back in time to experience this majestic ship that earned five battle stars during WW II. The Hampton Roads Naval Museum is owned and operated by the United States Navy and located on level two of Nauticus. The museum houses a rich collection of authentic uniforms, weaponry, underwater artifacts, detailed ship models and artwork.

Naval Station Norfolk Tours Norfolk, Virginia, is home of the largest naval base in the world. With the mission to support and improve the personnel and logistics readiness of the U.S. Atlantic Fleet, the base provides seaport, airport, and squadron facilities, quality of life, and personnel management services. The 45-minute tour departs from the Naval Tour and Information Center located at 9079 Hampton Blvd, next to Gate 5. Bus tours conducted by Navy personnel ride past aircraft carriers, destroyers, frigates, amphibious assault ships and the busy airfield. The tour also drives by historic homes from the 1907 Jamestown Exposition. There is a charge for the tour. A picture ID is required for all adults.

Colonial Williamsburg In Colonial Williamsburg’s 301-acre Historic Area stand hundreds of restored, reconstructed, and historically furnished buildings. Costumed interpreters tell the stories of the men and women of the 18th-century city—black, white, and native American, slave, indentured, and free—and the challenges they faced. In this historic place, we help the future learn from the past.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg, VA Virginia’s most popular vacation spot, Busch Gardens, is an action-packed theme park with 17th-century charm and 21st-century technology. The European countries of England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany and Italy serve as the setting for what is known as the world’s most beautiful theme park.
