Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA is the antidote to the big university conference experience. Our friendly 120-acre campus has everything you need: A beautiful park-like setting, small town atmosphere, personalized attention, and unparalleled service.

We accommodate the following:

  • Residential adult programs and youth camps, from 25 – 400 people (5-night minimum / summer only)
  • Weddings and private social events (year round)
  • Due to our small campus size and high internal demand for space, we are generally unable to accommodate other rental requests.

    Our award winning Catering Service offers exceptional food, professional service, creative presentation—and genuine value. Our extensive Catering Menu includes regional and ethnic specialties, and a wide assortment of vegetarian fare. Whether you are planning an afternoon coffee break, a rustic barbecue, or a black-tie gala, we have something for every taste and budget.


  • The Marketplace
    The Marketplace offers a unique, upscale dining experience for guests. Seven stations offer pasta, “Homestyle” entrées, grilled items, sandwiches, soup, salads, and baked goods daily, plus an ever-changing selection of specialty menu items such as wood-fired pizza and regional dishes. Vegetarian and vegan selections are always available. Marketplace meals are included in residential Room & Board plans, and can also be purchased a la carte for day campers or guests.


One-Stop Conference and Event Planning Our staff is here to assist you with all your conference needs! Whether it be arranging housing, reserving event spaces, planning meals, or figuring out how to make the most of your time in LA, we are here to help make your stay go smoothly.

On-Call Phone When our office is closed, guests will always have access to speak to one of our staff members through our on-call number for emergencies.

Free Parking Feel free to bring a car or van without worrying about the cost of parking -- there are three general parking lots, two parking garages, and parking spaces near residence halls and facilities. There are additional spaces for commercial vehicles.

Campus Safety Our campus safety department is on campus 24/7 to provide all guests with protection from possible dangers, support in case of emergency, and to secure the well-being of the campus as a whole.

Cleaning Services Residence hall common areas and other event spaces are cleaned on a regular basis by our dedicated cleaning services staff.

Athletic Facilities Conference groups can reserve access to the swimming pool with a lifeguard on duty, basketball courts, and athletic fields with an on-site athletic coordinator. Individual guests can pay for a guest pass to use our fully equipped gym.

Access to Public Transportation Don’t have a car during your stay but want to take full advantage of Occidental’s great location? There are buses and metro rails that are accessible by just a short walk.

Free Internet Access All accommodations and event spaces have free wireless access to Internet.

Audio/Visual and Technical Support Our audio/visual department is available if conference groups need a theater space as a venue.

Zipcar Access There are two Zipcars on campus that guests can access with Zipcar membership.


Internet Access Free high speed wireless Internet is available to all guests.

Fully-Equipped Classrooms and Auditoriums All classrooms and auditoriums are equipped with a computer, a projector, a projector screen, and a speaker system.

Computer Labs Computer labs with Internet access are available in residence halls and academic buildings.

Equipment Rentals Conference groups may rent speakers, projectors, etc.
