About
About Allegheny College
The Office of Conference & Event Services at Allegheny College can help your group or organization host its next meeting, training, conference or summer camp in a truly unique and historic campus setting.
Our office also coordinates cultural arts events and residencies on campus and directs campus-wide events such as Commencement and special celebrations. Summer is a wonderful time to enjoy Allegheny College. Through the Office of Conference and Event Services, the College offers a continuous learning community on campus for a diverse body of learners and teachers. The College’s picturesque landscape, extensive facilities and convenient location make the campus an ideal setting for events from the personal to the professional. The historic beauty of Ford Memorial Chapel and the rustic bridge lend a touch of tradition and charm to weddings and reunions on campus.
At the same time, the College remains at the forefront of technology through:
- video-conferencing equipment
- several “smart classrooms”
Our summers are bustling with a variety of camps, conferences, and meetings, including programs for children and high school students on topics such as music, dance and athletics.
The Allegheny College Summer Academy offers an enriching— and seriously fun —pre-college experience for motivated high school students. We’ve designed the Summer Academy to help talented young people get a preview of the excitement of college life while exploring their academic and career interests.
The Summer Academy helps talented young people explore their academic interests, build connections, and take an important step in their pathways to college — and their futures.
Students can earn college credit and focus their experience in one of three areas led by Allegheny’s distinguished faculty:
*Creativity & Expression Academy – Gain new perspectives, stretch your creativity, and draw connections across the arts, history, literature, and philosophy.
*Freshwater Academy – Study freshwater ecology in the beautiful streams of Northwestern Pennsylvania, observe wildlife, and learn from experts.
*Science & Innovation Academy – Learn by doing—and solving problems—through hands-on experience and experimentation.

Allegheny College recently became the first college or university in Pennsylvania — and the eighth in the United States — to achieve carbon neutrality, according to Second Nature, a national organization committed to accelerating climate action in, and through, higher education.
