Sports Camp Planning: Sports Camps Venues, Youth Sports Camp Locations

From day-long basketball clinics to football sleep-away trips, sports camps are a summer tradition. Each type will have its own considerations and requirements, but here are a few general tips to ensure that your sports camp is a hit!

There are plenty of places that may be able to host your event, and local colleges or universities are a great place to start looking for a venue for your next sports camp or youth camp. Not only will you have access to athletic fields and facilities, but you may be able to secure campus housing for overnight camps or multi-day events. For day camps or clinics, contact the area Parks and Recreation department to see if you can rent their facilities.

If your camp will include both classroom instruction and on-field practice, remember to arrange a projector or a dry erase board for your meeting room. Consider an iPod docking speaker system to provide music on the field.

Running around can work up an appetite, so visit a warehouse store for low-cost snacks like bananas, granola bars, and sports drinks. If you’ll serve meals, order “lunch boxes” from a local deli, or arrange a burrito bar or a similar make-it-yourself no-cook food. End your event with a celebration pizza party or take your sports team to Dave & Buster’s for food and family fun!

Whether you’re coaching the pee-wee leaguers or pro-league hopefuls, plan your sports camp at a Unique Venue. We’ll help to make sure everyone has a ball!
