Unique Venues Announces Record-Breaking Month of Planner Requests Through uniquevenues.com

JOHNSTOWN, PA – October 12, 2011- Unique Venues, North America’s largest provider of unique event and meeting spaces, today announced the record-breaking month of planner requests through uniquevenues.com.

Their service, which allows meeting and event planners to either search for a unique venue themselves or to have Unique Venues find one for them, is free for meeting and event planners. In September, the number of requests sent to Unique Venues’ member venues increased by 46 percent over September 2010, a record-breaking increase in the company’s history.

“We’re thrilled that more planners are turning to Unique Venues for their location needs,” says founder and CEO Michele Nichols. “Meeting and event planners are under pressure more now than ever to not only stay under budget but to deliver something different. Our venues fit that description perfectly.”

About Unique Venues

Unique Venues got its start in a tiny back room at 930 Jackson Street in Denver, Colorado. Michele Nichols began consulting with colleges and universities about how to market their facilities to off-campus groups.

It wasn’t long before unique venues of all kinds wanted to be a part of The Guide to Convening on Campus, her print directory that in 1997 transformed into a web directory.

Today, Unique Venues is a marketing and membership organization committed to bringing together one-of-a-kind event venues with meeting planners who are ready for something new. We represent thousands of non-traditional properties in the United States, Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom for any kind of get-together.
