New Furnishings Featured in UCM’s Largest Residence Halls
More than half of the Residence Hall rooms at the University of Central Missouri received an interior makeover this spring. New furnishings include new desks, chairs and beds with extra-long mattresses.
The new furniture is featured in the Ellis Complex and Nattinger/Bradshaw Hall, UCM’s largest residence hall facilities. Together, Ellis and Nattinger/Bradshaw can accommodate up to 1,400 people.
The new mattresses allow students and visitors with the opportunity to select their firmness. On one side the mattress is firm, and when reversed, the mattress is softer.
With the arrival of new furniture, UCM had a surplus of 1,932 items. In an effort towards sustainability, these items were donated to the Institution Recycling Network. This surplus was then loaded onto ocean containers and sent to the relief efforts in Jamaica and Honduras.
Ellis and Natinger/Bradshaw are often used for the summer camps and conferences at UCM. Nattinger/Bradshaw is located near the Multipurpose Athletic Building, has lounges on every floor, and is within a short walk of the newly renovated Westside Market Dining Hall. Ellis is located on the east side of campus with lounges on every floor. It houses Ellis Dining Hall.
All of UCM’s residence halls are air-conditioned with suite-style bathrooms. The on-campus housing places camp and conference attendees within a five-minute walk of most campus facilities. Discounts are available to groups with more than 100 individuals staying in the residence halls on campus.
