Back 2 School

Well, it’s the time of year we all have to face, The End of Summer. For some of you, you are just finishing up a busy summer conference season and taking time to reflect as you prepare for students to arrive back on campus. For others, you are preparing for a busy season of holiday parties (are there really only 133 days until Christmas?). On a personal side, some of you are becoming empty nesters (and empty walleters) as your children head off to college.

For me, I am preparing for my 3 girls to head back to school. My oldest daughter is off to high school (yikes), and my youngest daughter will be heading to kindergarten. I’ll finally have everyone in school full-time. But as I think about all of the changes we are about to face, I want to enjoy these last beautiful days of summer with my girls. We will be spending quality time just relaxing and having fun.

Be sure to recharge yourself during the next few weeks, because the upcoming months are bound to be a wild ride!

Lisa, I cannot agree with you more. The end of the summer brings with it a lot of ends and new beginnings. We, at California University of PA Conference Services had a great summer. But as a business that operates accommodations only during the months of May to August, the end of summer involves a lot of changes in a short turn around time. It is important to take care of yourself by destressing, relaxing or event take a 2-day vacation. I have already made plans to take a 4-day trip to New York City and see the sites. I also have tickets to the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium. I've lived here 7 years and have yet to visit. In the hussle and bussle of life: driving to and from work, paying bills, cleaning the house, taking out the garbage etc. we need to remember to stop, breathe and take care of ourselves. Here's to relaxation!
