Ball State Chosen as Host Site by Music For All

The nation's largest summer camp for instrumental music students and teachers will move to Ball State University starting in 2011, representatives of both organizations announced Aug. 18 at the university's Indianapolis Center.

The Music for All (MFA) Summer Symposium will bring an estimated 1,600 students and teachers to the east central Indiana campus. The inaugural symposium is scheduled for June 18-25, 2011. Succeeding annual events are planned through at least 2015.

Lakemont Park General Manager unanimous choice out of 28 applicants

Lakemont Park General Manager Barry Kumpf has been hired as the Blair County Convention Center's general manager.

"I'm very excited," Kumpf said. "I know this is a great opportunity."

As general manager, Kumpf, 53, will focus on convention center's day-to-day operations and efforts to bring in more business.
Authority Chairman Robert Halbritter, who was on the convention center’s selection committee, said Kumpf received a unanimous vote.
