Indian Wedding Ceremony Hosted at Blair County Convention Center

Altoona, PA - The Blair County Convention Center will be the site of the largest Indian Hindu wedding celebration ever held in the Alleghenies this Saturday, August 1.

Described by Brides Magazine as a “riot of color and creativity,” the customs, climate, language and food surrounding the Hindu Wedding Celebration are among the most extraordinary in the world.

The wedding of Arpita Patel will be hosted by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sanjiy Patel; her father is a prominent Pennsylvania hotelier. The groom is Mitul Patel from Maryland. (Patel is a common name in India; no relation to the bride’s family).

“This wedding is the first of its kind in the Alleghenies in its size, extravagance, and cultural intricacies.” said Convention & Meeting Sales Director, Carol Lang. “Our facility is known for creating exquisite wedding experiences, but this event takes the expertise of our staff to a whole new level.”

With as many as 750 guests expected to attend, the wedding will have considerable economic impact on the region, as guests will enjoy attractions in the Alleghenies for an entire week leading up to the daylong wedding celebration on Saturday.
